If someone were to ask me about my favorite place in Austria, I would immediately think of the Alpine region of Dachstein with the resort towns Schladming and Ramsau. Let me take you on a tour of that magnificent place. Here you will feel Austria!

Meeting point: Any hotel in Salzburg, Salzburg´s old town. 

Itinerary: Picturesque Salzach Valley, Cable car ride, Walk to the glacier, Hanging bridge, Ice Palace, Walk through the towns Ramsau and Schladming. 

Thematic: Nature, Contemporary life in Austria´s countryside, Geography, Geology, Tourism, Skiing, Customs and Traditions.

Estimated price for the tour: 600 - 750 EUR + cable car and entrance fees.  

The tour is available from May to October. 

The Dachstein tour can be extended by hiking to the waterfalls or marmot meadows.
