April weather in Salzburg
Each season and each month has its own unique charm. For me, April embodies a sense of anticipation for the soon coming summer. The snow slowly melts in the valleys, filling the air with a rich, fragrant scent.

Crocuses and magnolias burst into bloom, bringing vibrant colors to the landscape, and this month of spring can reach daytime temperatures of +20C.
April in Austria, however, reveals the unpredictable nature of the weather of all seasons. A saying captures this perfectly: April does what it wants (April macht was er will!) Just when you think it's time to put away your winter clothes, the frost returns and forces you to bundle up again.
In April, it is possible to make the first hikes in the lower mountains. Deep snow in the hills lasts until the end of May, after which most routes are passable. It's also an excellent month for long-distance biking.
In general, this is a month of energy influx. Therefore, for those who enjoy active recreation and prefer less time spent in tourist areas, I recommend visiting Austria, especially Salzburg, in April.
