The Ice Caves of Werfen, also known as Eisriesenwelt, is a vast network of caves that stretches 42 kilometers through the mountains. The portions of the cave system that are near the surface are covered in ice formations that are thousands of years old. These formations are constantly changing as they grow, making for a unique and ever-changing experience. Duration: 5 - 8 hours.

Meeting point: Any hotel in Salzburg or surroundings, train station, old town, airport.

Itinerary: Active tour with a hike of medium difficulty, altitude over 1600 meters (5.200 feet), cable car partly, upstairs and downstairs walk through the cave´s system.

Estimated price per tour: 450 - 650 EUR + entrance tickets

Warm clothing and comfortable walking shoes are required! The tour is available from 1 May to 27 October. 

The Ice Caves tour can be extended with a visit to the Golling Waterfall and/or Hohenwerfen Fortress.
